Karla Cedillo
Bug Manager
Karla Cedillo is a 4th grader at Gunsaulus Scholastic Academy, a rollie pollie enthusiast, and the youngest daughter of Dulce and Juan. Currently, her favorite topic in school is a three way tie between reading, writing and math. She wants to be a pediatrician when she grows up because she is passionate about supporting children, especially those who are disadvantaged. On the farm, she can most frequently be found instructing volunteers on proper harvesting techniques or hunting for insects to feed to the chickens (sometimes both at the same time!). At farmers markets, she’s known for encouraging other kids to eat their veggies. She loves working with people, so if you're new to the farm or have any questions, she's happy to show you around!
Alex Cedillo
Farmers Market Retail & Harvester
Alexandra is daughter of Juan and Dulce, making her fourth generation farmer in the Cedillo family. She, like her parents, has done multiple training sessions with Windy City Harvest as well as an internship with Angelic Organic Learning Center, which supplemented the knowledge and love for agriculture her parents had already shared with her.
Her passion for agriculture has led her to pursue a degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago. However, during the summer, Alexandra is at the farm and market, connecting with both nature and people.
Alexandra is vegan and thoroughly enjoys the wide range of produce grown on the farm!
